Go To Hell
Just tell it...
Go To Hell It was a quiet Saturday We sat on the front porch – waiting For them… Your kin, he called them And I knew his heart was a heart Who rested in the notes of family, The blurred lines between Yesterday’s Grannies, gone on And today’s grandchildren, among The prayers we’d prayed, we prayed For the family who knew us As that silent couple who were fighting His brain cancer, With fists who’d braved the very real Shadows of fears and tears, The unwelcome pieces of doubt Feelings lost in the dread, the diagnosis Destiny would not despair… Because we knew, just knew God would prove His control For us two… That would mean that word, Cancer… Would be left in its grave, Starved from its fate, A dead disease, who would one day Say…. I’ve been outdone by the One Who wrote this story, For each of us… And our kin, in prayers Told the Father how much it means Just believe and see How grateful your soul will be When cancer is the disease That finally leaves… So thankful to see Goodbye written in the ashes Of a soul’s lasting compassion In the breath of a prayer, Poured out by a heart, who knows With our kin, we’ve known This God who’s in control God has shown up and shown out, Telling this disease to go Back to hell, where it came from!
