Hope, Faith and Love 1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. Light bleeds through the shadows of my past, Where the moon stands still over things that can’t last No heart can see beyond the stars, where I feel The gentle touch of His kindness who is sure to heal Light leaves its promise upon the soul, Risking every dewy story – He’s made me whole When the music fades into the spoken notes There is a tenderness in scripture’s antidotes Light soothes my spirit with reflections of grace Pouring out blessings with every Godly embrace Never will the world see beyond those fears, Who tell me that this life is built from precious tears. Light softly plays against each breath I take This is a moment when His blessings will not forsake He is the answer to the stars, the glistening cure For every dark thought – He’ll make each heart pure Light sways to the music, the angel’s quietly sing And I hear the winds of a promise that love will bring When I meet my Savior and see the way He revives I’ll know the meaning of this love that forever survives. Light clings to His garment and I know He’s the peace That subtly chases away my shame, with hope that won’t cease He is the reason I feel like each shadow is falling away And I can see the beauty of a story in each prayer I pray Light glistens on my heart as it stands up to the storm Always knowing that His sweet love will reform Silencing the demons who try to destroy and defeat He tells me that His voice rises in each note, each heartbeat Light beckons from the sun, stilling the heaviest mists Love lives in the souls of those who know that hope exists Inside, a burning love leads the way to transformation His love is alive and feeds the entire world’s creation Light stirs the music of a fading breath, it’s a song To those who know that God lives to right the wrong He is in the wind, the sea, the story of sweetest love He is the seeker of shadows, the entrance to a home above Light is the reason I can honestly say that I see Beneath the bitterness and worry, and I agree He is in the silence and He is in the words of praise When I feel the muse He offers, I feel love that can amaze! Light is beyond explaining – it is the seeker of souls It rises in the heart of believers, shines so bright as it consoles It remembers every sorrow, yet wipes away the fear It is the flow of grace we borrow as He wipes away our tear Light is the feeling, flowing over the heart who hears It is the promise of everlasting hope that never disappears When you reach out to the One who guides the sinner home Know that your destiny is hidden within love that will never roam. Light is like a whisper of mist carrying the believer on It offers the gentle touch of love that rises in the dawn And sends the believer a precious peace that silences all doubt When we listen to this light, this love, we can’t help but shout! Light this bright and dazzling can surely heal the sinner With a love that comes from God above, making the soul a winner When I let go and let God, I know that this light shines brighter, Though the devil tries to kill me – His grace made me a fighter! Light, shine on and remind us all – we’re all a part of His church Though the devil travels to and fro – this love will end his search Because I know the light that shines down from heaven above Is a light that is layered gently… in hope, faith and love!
What if I told you I’m certain you missed a miracle yesterday? And not just any miracle but one that Heaven wanted to do through you to significantly change someone’s life for the better—maybe your own? I would understand if you were doubtful. But right alongside that doubt, most of us can identify a nearly universal experience. Almost everyone in the world—whatever their religious belief—can point to an event in their lives that seemed directly orchestrated by Heaven, that seemed impossible to explain without using words like “I can’t believe what just happened! That was a miracle!” We call these experiences divine coincidences, miracle moments, supernatural provisions. Whatever we call them, we tend to value such events so highly that we recount them over and over, often for years. “I’ll never forget the time…,” we say, or “Sooner or later my daughter is going to tell you about…” Why do we remember such events so clearly? I think it’s because we feel that we have been touched by Heaven. It’s as if God Himself stepped through the curtain that separates the seen from the unseen to make something wonderful happen for us, something only He could do. But here’s the best part. In the experience we hear a personal and unforgettable message from God.
