Lay it all down
Let go and Let GOD..... be blessed by His grace and love
Lay Down Your Life He did what we’re uncomfortable doing He gave up His life for love – He’s so worthy Of all our worship, our praise and our love He is worthy of every glory, let us pray… For the gift of unselfishness, the love So like His, yet I’m so unworthy of being A image bearer, the light reflecting grace, The good – love that gives without conditions Love that is meant to show the world He is Everything worth anything, all hope and grace He is the wonder that causes our soul to praise! When I don’t know where to turn When I don’t know what to say When my life feels so wrong When the night is unending waves… Of darkness, doubt, dread and despair The heavy ache of lonely and lost, The night’s breath, softly clouding all hope, I remember that He is there and He is love And whatever comes, there is this ONE Who silences the storms, restores the hope Reminds me that I’m loved, beyond words Loved with a love that can only come to those Who He chose… Oh, how I praise this love who chose me, Despite my ache, despite my doubts Despite all the reasons He had for leaving me out He is mine and I am His And to this love, I’ll forever cling, eternally blessed Eternally filled With a wonder of light That silences each fear A distant praise, comes to my ear As I lay down my worries Knowing He’s near and He is All I’ll ever need He is the reason that I’m free of all dread He is the reason that I will forever be… Alive in the heavens, alive and free Shining from glory, A breath of God’s grace A rhythm of what is meant to be For those who agree… He’s all we will ever need! When you lay down your life For the One who died to save You pick it up again… and finally you’ll see He is the light that shines eternally He is the reason that my heart burns within He is the love that forgives me of all sin He is the hope that faith stirs when I give… Up my own, offering it all to Him!
Heart’s Song In the flight of the robin, Silence ripples, caressing my dreams With glorious gentle, a sense of grace Praising the Creator… With each feather, Each song of admiration, The bird remembers the music In breathless tones of glistening glories, Softly playing, always knowing… In His presence, There is a hope that stirs awake, The love that lives, the sweet faith The glory of a love so alive, full of grace, And we praise… The robin with her faith My soul, despite the pain My heart, who knows He’s the way Through the suffering, through the fear Through the silence and the darkest shadow Through it all, He is here And He sends down His peace For those who believe… Like the robin, I am simple and weak But – like the robin, in Him I believe And find the wonder of amazing grace The blessing of a hope that always lasts The beauty of a love that will sustain The miracle of a light who is the Son’s rays.
Dr. Brand’s work earned accolades on several continents. Queen Elizabeth II appointed him Commander of the Order of the British Empire, India’s Mahatma Gandhi Foundation selected him as the only Westerner to serve on that board, and the US Public Health Service gave him their highest award. Despite such international recognition, humility struck me as his strongest attribute. When I met him, Dr. Brand was still adjusting to life in the United States. Everyday luxuries made him nervous, and he longed for a simple life close to the soil. He preferred going barefoot and spent his spare time bird-watching and tending his garden. Although he knew people such as Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Albert Schweitzer, and Prince Philip, he rarely mentioned them. He talked openly about his failures and always tried to deflect credit for his successes to his colleagues. Most impressively to me, the wisest and most brilliant man I have ever known devoted much of his life to some of the lowliest people on the planet: members of India’s Untouchable caste (now called Dalits) afflicted with leprosy.
