Stars In His Eyes
Just like his wrinkles,
Gray hair and distant stare
There comes a moment,
When moonlight falls on the night,
Erasing the darkness
With the shimmering of stars
Alive as the heart’s rhythmic pounding
Trembling in his expression,
Soft words pouring out of him,
Reminding me that he is such a blessing,
A treasure and a time…
Now faded, yet timeless as light
Flowing through the heart
Who believes, who can see – he is more
Than memory.
He is the moment when hope begins,
The fire that survives life’s sin,
The feeling that bleeds joy through the bleak
The sigh that fades beneath shadow’s kiss
The silence lifted from its lonely routine,
The peppering of a heart who sways…
Beneath the prayers proving that love is a place
Beyond the doubts and the dread – love is a place
That is forever breaking through the fears and tears,
Lasting in the soul of those who see the sun
Shining in his eyes, eyes who invite the gaze
Into the affections kindled by One who led the quest
For love without end. Love that is beyond a gift
Love that is heaven sent. Love that is expressed
By the beautiful in a sunset, the wonder in the dew
The freedom of a teardrop – the worship
That comes to those who remember the blessing of God’s Son,
The One who guides the soul into a faith that is more alive
Than the moon and stars of night – more alive
Than the twinkling inside gentle eyes, more alive
Than the sensation of love that will always survive
Because this is the ONE who makes us all whole,
This is the ONE who sings grace to the soul,
This is the ONE who stills doubt and raises hope,
Hope for eternity with the ONE who is real love – genuine
Love, authentic love that can never fade away….
For this love shines brighter than the light of day
This love is the answer to every heart
This love is the promise that the soul isn’t lost
This love is the wonder that only God could have brought
The gift from One who made a way, through faith,
For our hearts and souls to pray and say… Jesus
Is the way, the truth, the life… God’s sacrifice, His grace
The gift that assures souls they’ve forever been made whole!
God—our Shepherd—doesn’t check the weather; he makes it. He doesn’t defy gravity; he created it. He isn’t affected by health; he has no body. Jesus said, “God is spirit” (John 4:24). Since he has no body, he has no limitations—equally active in Cambodia as he is in Connecticut. “Where can I go to get away from your Spirit?” asked David. “Where can I run from you? If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I lie down in the grave, you are there” (Psalm 139:7–8).

“See, a lot of people think prayer is getting God to do what you want Him to do on your timetable. The longer I live, the more I think it’s like stepping off the platform onto a train that’s starting to move. It takes faith to take a step, but once you’re on and you submit to His control, you’re headed in the direction He wants you to go.”
