Day One
James 4:6 (KJV) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
I bowed before an old fashioned altar when I was a teenager, giving my heart to the One who came to this earth to save me. He forgave me for my sins, the darkness that lingered within. He made me see, through the words of an old timey preacher, that there was more to religion than simply going to church and praying, although those two things are an important part of the Christian faith. He spoke to my heart that day and then, again, on other days – until I realized that, because of Him, I could know what the word grace meant. Because of grace, I became a child of the King of Kings.
Since those early years, when I clung to my sin despite the fact that I’d been freed from sin, I have changed from a rebellious, prideful, disobedient child into a woman who believes, agrees, receives joy that comes from knowing the One who truly does make all things new.
