Snowflake Stories
Poetry and Praise, lifting up my heart with thanks!
In a Snowflake Breathless sighs, soft Dreams awakened, stirred To life by smokey gasps, air Cutting, biting… bitter Blustery cold, like the heart After a dismal divorce From someone who knows Every sorrow, each fear… All the dreams forbidden, Like the silence of the dawn Who is blanketed by white, snow Falling overnight, reminding Each puffing prayer that there is Gusting winds of change, Laughing through the flakes In quiet waves of inspiration, soothing Away the melancholic fright As night is erased by a sun reflecting Flurries raging between the pages Day and night – the moments Connecting silence and sound, Stormy weather and the moon’s Shimmering pleasures, singing Music in notes of turbulent Relenting into the breathlessness Raging, furious storms Relinquishing the silence Through the explosion of a blizzard Who reminds us all… Historically, we’re all merely Fragments, dust – a snowflake Melting beneath the warmth of the Son
On a Frosty Morn Leaves glitter quietly, serene and slumbering, Beneath the frost’s quick breath. Amber, gold and mahogany – crisp as the voice of winter Shadowed by trembling winds of December, Hopeful and happy beneath the jewels of laughing songs, Inspirations drifting softly on the light of yesterday’s dawn. Leaves shimmer beneath a faded oak, Bleeding its memories for changes to come, Blessings to unwrap with the melancholic sprays, Splattering the soul with music in calm bouquets, Lavender, azure and scarlet – released by the mums, Who forbid the heart from letting go of hope, Shying away from the darkest parts of a nocturnal flow – Flavored with tender morsels of moments When beautiful was more than a word or a scene… Beautiful was like the faded feeling, the dream, Arising from the mist, swaying like smokey fantasies, Spiced with liquid streams who heal and gush, Pouring over the night with a moon who rises in naughty haste, And stars dusting off their radiance, promising twinkling, Twirling and dancing, reflecting all the joy that comes from knowing… Even the sky can see through the ebony dusk, into the magnificent web, A spider tends from the intimacy of a front porch swing, Wordlessly, ghostlike … Leaves abide the mystery of a night ablaze with silhouettes, Gentle followers… risking untimely deaths, Departing the moon’s glow for the joy of a stunning acapella Music unheard, yet its rhythms absorb the darkness, Sing stories of love and excitement, wonders beyond describing, Alone, the vision in melodious ballad, pours out perfection, Into the amazement of autumn’s drizzling deluge, reviving hearts, Renewing the courage of the colors in fall, Leaving only the moments before daylight To believe that thunders would echo into the dawn, Leaving the faded breath of a departing moon, Leaving the worn forests to feel their forlorn losses, As oaks heavy with acorns burst forth in song – Betraying summer’s smile and reaching beyond the first thought… Into forever after, where sun and moon cast their enchantment, Rescuing the dew at dawn and abiding Beneath a frost so sticky it paints every leaf and lawn, Erasing the warmth of summertime And leaving a need for blankets and sweaters, Hastily thrown across couches and shoulders, Always remembering the quiet blessings of 80 degree weather, While basking in the crisp, cool dawns – 30 degrees and less, Slashing the silence with a healthy dash of this unfriendly climate. Yes. Leaves glitter and gasp, Accepting the moments while remembering All that has passed, a past filled with peace, The presence of hope and happiness, healing… While the present is so desperately chilling – Even though we know God’s finger still painted this brilliance!

A Prayer and a Promise
Dear Lord, I know that You know me better than I know myself and I haven’t a doubt that I’ve lost out many times because my faith wasn’t strong enough or I didn’t have the trust it takes to pray when I should have. I know that You know all of this and still, You make a way for me to reach beyond the shadows of doubt and cling to the hand You’re holding out.

Very creative Regina. I can see you at your desk and musing over your words as you think and meditate and sing along as you let the rhyme form in your heart. Good prayer too. And yes, I keep praying for your husband.
